After yesterday's video asking if the MMORPG genre is dying ([ Ссылка ]) a game developer by the name of @triunestudio left a comment that they were coming soon. After checking out their YouTube channel I found their idea of Tomb Masters which is live staff running events on servers. I think this is a brilliant idea and something fresh and revolutionary to add to the MMORPG mix. I mean this is bringing us back to having a game master at the head of the table interacting with our characters, instead of responding to a set of conditions that were pre-programmed into a video game.
Now, is there some room for abuse? Yes, and I think Triune will need to look at loot, treasure and possible abuse, because after all humans are still human by nature, but I think this is an amazing idea and could be the next step for MMORPGs. But, you already knew that because I made the video. What do you think? Do you think the idea of live game masters that create and run events is a good idea?
EDIT: It was nice to see the developers comment on this video about the potential abuse. Their comment was pinned as the top comment.
