The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal remains stationary 320 km southeast of Nagapattinam and could intensify into a cyclone before crossing the Tamil Nadu coast on the 30th. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Coastal Tamil Nadu, with the Delta districts under an orange alert. Authorities have deployed NDRF teams, set up shelters, and advised fishermen to avoid the sea.
