Takijualuk drama students from Pond Inlet (Mittimatalik) Nunavut performed this play in their hometown, Yellowknife, Fort Rae and in Switzerland in 1993. The play is about the importance of the seal harvest and how vital they are for Inuit. The play also includes the legend of Sedna or Nuliajuk and Tuutalik in other Inuit regions. This was performed in 1993, the United Nations Year of Indigenous Peoples.
I found my old VHS copy and recorded it. I wanted my kids to be able to watch this anytime they wanted and learn more about our Inuit culture and hear our beautiful songs. Easier now in this digital age. Hope you enjoy it!
