"In case you didn't notice, the Republican tax plan is tax cuts for billionaires hidden behind a curtain that says "middle class" and "cut loopholes" on it.
And because taxes are complicated all a Republican congressman feels he has to do is be enthusiastic about "growth" and "middle class money back in your pocket" and the gerrymandered base will do the rest, right?
Unless Velshi and Ruhle are asking the questions.
This morning on their show the business-savvy pair hosted Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia, a congressman from a district so safely Republican that he ran unopposed in 2016. (He nevertheless had a campaign committee that raised a total of $1,246,487 and spent $706,718.
Don't get me started.
So when Stephanie Ruhle asked him to name ONE loophole that will be closed for billionaire corporations (and Ali Velshi mentioned that GE pays no taxes and is unlikely to in the future no matter what Republicans do), Buddy Carter did what he's there to do and filibustered.
He couldn't name one loophole.
Velshi said let's both read the bill and I'll have you back on.
Because safe Republicans like Buddy never Flunk Out of Congress or lose their liscense to come on cable news and lie.”*
