Jumaa Al-Batran, a one-month-old infant, lost his life not to Israeli missiles, but to the bitter cold and frost in a displacement tent set up along the shores of the Deir Al-Balah Sea.

At least three Palestinian babies have died from hypothermia in Gaza over the past week as the suffocating Israeli siege makes harsh winter conditions uninhabitable.

Dr Munir al-Bursh, director general of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, said that Gaza's makeshift tents are 'fridges of death' for Palestinian babies.
The deaths underline the dire conditions in Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians are packed into derelict makeshift tents, fleeing Israeli shelling in different parts of the strip.
