If anything stands out the most about Castlevania II: Simon's Quest for me, it's the dark endings accompanied by this solemn song! When I first beat the game, I naturally got the bad ending the first time. Thanks to this song and learning of my fate, I quickly lost the proud feeling that I got from defeating Dracula. I actually felt sad because I failed... back then I thought all game endings were supposed to be happy. Boy was I wrong! I played through the game a few more times and finally got the average ending after the forth playthrough. I eventually got the best ending.
