HOW MANY POINTS CAN I GET ON MY DRIVING RECORD BEFORE MY LICENSE IS SUSPENDED?
The Colorado DMV suspends people's driver's licenses when they receive 12 points or more in 12 consecutive months OR 18 points or more in 24 consecutive months.
For minors at least age 18 but under 21, their licenses may be suspended if they accrue 9 points or more within 12 consecutive months, OR 12 points or more within 24 consecutive month, OR 14 points or more for violations after the age of 18.
For minors under 18, their licenses can be suspended if they accrue more than 5 points within 12 consecutive months, or more than 6 points for violations occurring before the age of 18.
For chauffeurs, their licenses will be suspended if they accrue 16 points in 1 year, OR 24 points in 2 years, or 28 points in 4 years if all the points are accumulated while working as a chauffeur.
