In the summer, Shell Bay and Studland form one of the most popular beaches for locals and tourists alike, in Dorset. However, during the winter months the sandy beaches take in a different atmosphere, left to the winds and storms, they are a haven for wading birds, brent geese, and offshore the sea holds wintering grebes, divers, and ducks. This short video is to show the winter atmosphere and highlight one of the wintering shorebirds, one of the few that are almost exclusive to sandy beaches, sanderling.
