What inspires us to think outside of our usual ways? How can physical objects stimulate our thinking toward peaceful solutions? Can the meaning of peace be interpreted by objects? This documentary captures efforts of the Innovation Cell in the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (UN DPPA) to spark new ideas to advance the UN’s work on conflict prevention, peacemaking and peacebuilding.
Celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Week in April 2022, the UN DPPA Innovation Cell has partnered with the creative firm Altimeter and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) to develop a collection of one of a kind, handmade objects to encourage imagination and give a physical format to what, for example, the texture of resilience, the weight of dialogue, or the movement of diplomacy could look like. The initiative included interactive workshops for UN staff members to explore in a more in-depth way how objects can shape our thinking on peace.
