In this tutorial I will be sharing with you ways that help me keep my cut clean even for the most detailed designs. The first one I discuss is to change your cut setting to washi if you are trying to cut a small and detailed design. The tip is to check and clean your blade. I prefer using a ball of tinfoil and pressing the blade in and out several times. Be careful they can be sharp! The next tip is to check your mat. The cutting mats need to be cleaned frequently. My preferred method for this is dish soap and brush and water, rinse and pat dry. Keep and use the clear sheet that came with your mat to keep it clean. After you clean your mat then I would use one of these three methods. The first one is using a scraper to secure your material to your cutting mat. This helps remove the air and utilize the adhesive to the material that you are cutting. The next method is using a brayer roller to secure your vinyl/cardstock etc. to your mat. The next method is using painters tape to secure your material to your mat to prevent it from moving or lifting from your mat during cutting. If non of these things work it may be time for a new mat. These are the things that use when my projects don't come out as expected! I hope this helps you too! Please comment on some issues you experience using your Cricut.
