In Apaa at the border of Amuru and Adjumani districts, the Uganda Wildlife Authority is making last preparations to evict the 26,000 residents living there. The government says the area, which has been in contention, is located in Adjumani district and UWA says it belongs to East Madi Game Reserve. But some Acholi leaders and locals contest it. Amuru district Chairman Michael Lakony advises Ministry of Energy and government to establish a clear process of exploration to make mineral deposits in Amuru a blessing not a curse.
