Following a 6-year legal battle, the Constitutional Court has finally ruled that the South African Police Service has an obligation, under domestic and international law, to investigate crimes against humanity in Zimbabwe.The case was brought by the Southern African Litigation Centre, and the Zimbabwean Exiles Forum in 2008, following a police raid on the headquarters of the opposition, Movement for Democratic Change.
