The Embassy of Italy in Ghana prevented the Black Star Polo kids from taking part in the Habawaba International Festival, denying their #visas to fly to Italy. However the story of the young Ghanaian #waterpolo players has left its mark on the event which took place at Bella Italia & EFA Village from June 18th to 25th.
Their coach Asante Sefa-Boakye, who is a US citizen, was able to travel to Lignano Sabbiadoro and feel the #solidarity towards his players coming from the other teams present at the world’s most important kids waterpolo event. The absence of Black Star Polo at HaBaWaBa International Festival was perceived as an #injustice by the entire HaBaWaBa community.
And this video, shot by Dimitris Papas, is a message that the HaBaWaBa teams in Lignano wanted to send to Black Star Polo kids: we look forward to seeing you in 2024!

L'Ambasciata d’Italia in Ghana ha impedito ai ragazzi della Black Star Polo di partecipare all’HaBaWaBa International Festival, negando loro i visti per volare in Italia, ma la storia dei giovani pallanuotisti ghanesi ha lasciato il segno al Bella Italia & EFA Village.
Il loro coach Asante Sefa-Boakye, che è cittadino statunitense, ha potuto raggiungere Lignano Sabbiadoro e tastare con mano la solidarietà verso i suoi giocatori da parte degli altri team presenti alla più importante manifestazione di pallanuoto per bambini al mondo. L’assenza della Black Star Polo all’HaBaWaBa International Festival è stata percepita come un’ingiustizia da parte dell’intera comunità HaBaWaBa.
E questo video, realizzato da Dimitris Papas, è un messaggio che le squadre all’HaBaWaBa International Festival hanno voluto lanciare ai ragazzi di Black Star Polo: vi aspettiamo nel 2024!
