Jessi has been kind enough to send me some footage of her Little Forest Bats from the mass rescue a few weeks back.
Meet Jess's 3 girls, Wilingali (little finger), Gili (bright spark), and Yanadah (moon). (names sourced from the local Dharug language).
These girls are adult females, whose care fits better in with Jess's current commitments. One of the girls is a ring-in, and is a slightly different species (Yanadah is an Inland Forest Bat, we think, with slightly different ears and is booffier and of a heavier build).
I thought I'd also add in the footage (at the end) of my excursions for the day when locating and buying all the different ingredients to mix up microbat milk, just for your entertainment.
Just because they're tiny critters and drink very little volume, the economies of mixing up tiny amounts accurately mean you have to use more than you need (unless you have a lot of micro pups in care). I spent around $100 (including having to also (very annoyingly) pay for parking for 5 minutes) for the day's ingredients, but the addition of the Megaderm is making a lot of difference to the condition of Seamorn's babies' skin and fur condition.
