Getting in a few repots before Winter in Brisbane, Queensland. Oncidium Sharry Baby has grown in to a very large plant and has been long overdue for a repot. I've given her a 25cm pot but it's still probably too small. It will eventually need to go in to a very large pot or divided in a couple years.
My repotting style is a lot more relaxed now. I remove old sphagnum and obviously dead roots, but aim for efficiency and minimal root disturbance. Having said this, oncidiums do not mind a little root disturbance and it often triggers greater new root production. I'm quite confident Sharry baby will continue to do well after this repot.
