You know how I've often addressed how it's difficult for people with autism to function in the real world because of their challenges with learning and understanding directions or communication. Well it can also be an issue for them when people expect too much of them, and talk down on them. Think of it like this, you have a scab on your arm, how do you expect it to heal if you keep picking at it?
That's why I want to go ahead and address 5 things that you should never say to a person with autism.
1. You should know these things by now.
2. Have you ever thought about dating someone with Autism?
3. I know what it's like.
4. I've seen other autistic people do very well at this.
5. You should not be using your disability as an excuse.
