The faithful companions of the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) present during his lifetime were all given the name of sahabah (which is arabic for companions). Among the sahabah, Abu Bakr, omar, usman and Ali (r.a.a.) were ALL GUARANTEED paradise within their lifetime. Afterall, they did so much for islam. Yet there are those who fabricate lies and slander against them. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) is reported to have said that if there ever was going to be a prophet after him it would have been omar (r.a.).
We all know that after prophet muhammad (s.a.w.) there would be no prophet but this was said by him possibly because umar (r.a.) had a deep and correct understanding of islam hence he was called as umar al faruq. (having the knowledge of the criteria between good and bad) All sahabah were the best generation this ummah had seen. However, since every human makes mistake that does NOT mean that they were all perfect but if anyone can ever come to near perfect companionship it would definitely be the sahabah (r.a.a.) which includes ali (r.a.) as well.
May Allah guide us all to the straight path, ameen ya rab.
