Dewalt line trimmer guard changeover DCM5713-XE
While being a great idea to minimise the amount of debris spitting back at you, the guard on this whipper snipper makes it impractical to use as a straight shaft edger.
I did some searching and found a smaller guard. The guy on that video was actually changing his from the small to the big one?
I contacted Dewalt to get confirmation as to whether the new guard would fit my model, they said they would get the answer and reply to me with it but they never bothered to get back to me.
It was raining while I posted this video so I couldn't get a trial in but I can already see how much better it will be to use.
I have a heap of Dewalt tools and was disappointed with this unit however being able to get a smaller one makes up for it.

After having used the new guard, it has totally transformed the usability of this line trimmer. I now love it!
