A classic dal recipe with white brinjal cooked in boiled dal. This sour dal is a mouth-freshing dish with all the freshness in the eggplant or brinjal.

Ingredients:
Toor dal 1/4 Cup
Chana dal 1/2 Cup
Tomatoes 2 Numbers
Green chilli 3 Numbers
Mustard seeds 1/2 Tablespoons
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoons
Garlic 6 Numbers
Curry leaves 2 Springs
Turmeric 1 Pinch
Onion 2 Numbers
Eggplant 150 Grams
Amchur powder 1/2 Tablespoons
Red chilli powder 1 Teaspoons
Salt To taste
Directions:
1. In a pressure cooker put toor dal, chana dal, two tomatoes, green chilli cook this till dals are tender.
2. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, when mustard and cumin seeds splutter add crushed whole garlic saute it, add curry leaves, pinch of turmeric, onion big pieces saute it for 2 minutes.
3. Add eggplant pieces, amchur powder, red chilli powder, salt add required water mix it and cook it for 3 minutes in a slow flame with lid on.
4. Then add boiled dal mix it, once it comes to boil switch off the flame. Serve with rice.
