A driving force for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has always been the goal of a single, unified model representing the system, from which all the required documents and views could be derived. The reality is that engineering organizations store system data across a range of tools and repositories from multiple vendors. A SysML model may be an effective high-level roadmap and clearinghouse for the Total System Model, but it must be robustly connected at a fine-grained level to all the other models in other tools if it is to support the MBSE vision.
This webinar session demonstrates Syndeia - an existing Intercax product which supports a robust network of connections between models in different tools. In our presentation, we will demonstrate a variety of specific use cases involving MagicDraw SysML connecting with PLM/ALM, CAD, simulation, requirements and project management tools. The role of standards, including REST, OSLC, FMI and STEP, in creating such connections will be addressed. Finally, some perspectives on the future of MBSE and Syndeia’s positioning within that future will be offered.
