On May the 27th 2013 The New Measurement Train (Abbreviated NMT) Also nicknamed the Flying Banana by enthusiasts pauses at Retford Station to let ECML Traffic past. The Train arrived at 15:34 roughly 9 minutes early and left at 16:01 8 minutes early.
The Powercars were 43013 & 43062 "John Armitt" and were working the NMT From Heaton to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail). The New Measurement Train runs every 2 weeks covering the entire network collecting data on the tracks condition and measures the rail gauge.
