Dustin Foley and his 15 year old daughter said they were serving sandwiches to fellow protesters outside Lafayette Park Monday June 1st, when this happened:
"I was outraged. No one wants to hear their child screaming in pain. Her eyes were swollen shut and she couldn't breathe. And when police responded, they had no compassion. I told them that it was a minor, and that she needed medical attention. And they just pushed us further into their tear gas cloud."
Video evidence shows US Park Police fired stinger ball grenades that exploded pellets and natural tear gas at protesters that day.
The ACLU is now suing MPD on behalf of Foley and other protesters.
The ACLU is adding MPD to the multiple federal police agencies, the Attorney General and the Trump Administration into its civil rights violation lawsuit.
