On April 28, 2017, The University of Scranton’s Schemel Forum in collaboration with the Scranton Times-Tribune hosted Jill Dougherty, Global Fellow, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars for a talk titled Putin’s Poker Game. Russian expert Jill Dougherty examines how Russian President Vladimir Putin is taking measure of the new US administration, probing and testing how far he can go, playing alternatively the aggressor and the peacemaker. Dougherty provides us with an insider’s perspective of the Russian mindset – describing what motivates Putin and how Putin strategically maneuvers dealings with the United States and President Trump.
