In this lesson, we will discuss the difference between mass and weight and how these terms relate to physics. In physics, mass refers to the amount of atoms and types of atoms inside the object. Weight is the force of gravity on the object. So, on Earth, an object has mass and weight, but if the object is taken to deep space it will have no weight but still have mass. Mass relates to how much inertia a body has - how hard it is to accelerate an object. Mass has nothing to do with gravitational force.
