More than 3,600 migrants crossed the Channel to the UK in July, the highest monthly total this year.
Some 3,683 made the crossing on 90 boats in the 31-day period, with journeys taking place on 20 of those days.
The Ministry of Defence says 460 people crossed the English Channel in 12 small boats on Saturday - one of the highest number in a single day so far this year.
With the 247 migrants arriving on Friday, more than 1,000 people have made the crossing in the last week.
Border control expert Henry Bolton MBE criticised the government over their handling of the migrant crisis.
"This is the biggest scandal of British politics this century."
