Perhaps the most popular piece from one of the Kabalevsky's standard 20th-century teaching literature, 30 Children's Pieces, Op. 27. An excellent work for developing the feeling of first inversion triads in the right hand. Requires legato playing in the left hand melody and offbeat staccato chords in the right. Good study for balancing LH melody over RH accompaniment.
