Antique Leather Technique Part I

This is short video about an interesting theme in leatherworking.

I´m showing you my way of Antique Finishing and Antique Leather Technique.

After leather is tooled, oiled and dried, you are ready for the next step. Preparing leather for Antique Finish. This is necessary step. Without it, leather will just soak antique finish, and you wouldn't be capable to clean it. That why is necessary preserve leather with some waterstain Finish. I always had good results with Fiebing's Resoline. Just put the thin coat on the leather and after 1 hour (when is dry), you are ready to roll with antique.
