Posting racist remarks on social media has once again come under the spotlight barely five months since Penny Sparrow's infamous baboon Tweet earlier this year. This time, Judge Mabel Jansen is making news headlines after making comments that rape is part of black culture. Judge Jansen has been put on special leave by Justice Minister Michael Masutha. This pending the outcome of a complaint submitted to the Judicial Service Commission. For its part the Human Sciences Research Council is embarking on a series of talks around the country, based on the growing prevalence of racism in South Africa.
