The United States dominated the world, as a sole superpower after the end of Cold War in 1991. However, global leadership of the US and the world order it had established after the WW II / Cold War era, are now being increasingly challenged by the rising rival power China. The US National Defense Strategy 2018, mentions China as the USA’s principal strategic competitor and points out that “inter-state strategic competition” is the primary concern of the US national security.
A Pakistani scholar, Ghazanfar Lateef Dar (@ghazanfar.dar.56) has written a very interesting book, 'War in the Making', which deals with historical, theoretical, geopolitical and geo-economic dimensions of the US-China strategic competition in the Indo-Pacific Region (IPR), and its impact on South Asia.
