This is my short review of my long term loan of the mighty Leica SL2. I have reviewed every SL, but I've spent the most time with the SL2. I feel really comfortable using it. I love the industrial design, the well thought out features, as well as the very functional EVF. Are there better cameras out there? Of course. Even when the SL2 was new, there were already very strong cameras from Sony, Canon and its sister camera the Panasonic S1R. However, if you want to get into the Leica hybrid ILC system, the SL2 is the way to go.
Even with the new SL3, I still think the SL2 is a good choice for those who want to enter the Leica interchangeable lens ecosystem. My suggestion is to buy the M to L mount adapter with helicoid from Light Lens Lab, and start building up your collection of m mount lenses. Even if you end up buying an M body, you can still use your m mount glass on both systems.
