Périgueux, capital of the French department of the Dordogne, is a city steeped in history. With Roman ruins, medieval streets and Renaissance buildings, without forgetting it's Byzantine-looking Cathedral, it's a place where you can't help but feel like you're walking through time. It's quaint cafes and boutiques selling the best of the Périgord will have something to keep anyone interested. Certainly worth a visit if you come to the Dordogne!
