Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are a class of drugs used to treat heartburn, gastroesphageal reflux disease and gastric ulcers. This video provides an overview of how to use an evidence-based PPI deprescribing algorithm to help you decide when and how to safely reduce or stop PPIs if they are no longer needed, or possibly causing more harm than benefit. It also highlights the situations in which people should continue their PPIs.
