The Indian Government is all set to scrap the FMR along the Indo-Myanmar border and also build a 300 km Smart Fence. FMR allows people on both sides of the border to move up and down the border without a visa. FMR has been criticised for creating problems of drug and arms smuggling, giving shelter to insurgents and illegal immigrants.
