Tonight we celebrate International Women's Day! This comes at a time when South Africans are asking serious questions about how women are treated in our country. Recent incidents of rape, domestic violence, and the killing of lesbians have been well documented and discussed at length on this very programme.
On the business front, some strides have been made, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. So, is ours, a society that is serious about empowering women? If so, what more needs to be done by both government and society at large to actualize this empowerment at a broader level?
