SOT Richard Butler, Chief UN weapons inspector "Tariq Aziz raised the question of the U-2 fighters today and I told him that they would continue, they are a unique aircraft that do a special job for us."
SOT Richard Butler "We are reliant upon the United Nations to make staff available to us. We've gone back to them staying we need a wider geographic basis and I was able to tell Aziz that we have hired Chinese staff. Russia, France have offered some people. It is not a trade off between these two things they are both intrinsic values, we must have access and we must have expert staff."
SOT Richard Butler "With respect to the end of our work here will be finished when it is finished and that depends on Iraq, if Iraq gives us the information and the access we can get this job done and over relatively quickly."
