What is the LIC AAO Exam?
Life Insurance Corporation Assistant Administrative Officer Exam is conducted for the recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer in the LIC. After clearing this exam candidates can get posting as
• AAO Generalist
• AAO IT
• AAO Chartered Accountant
• AAO Actuarial and
• AAO Rajbhasha
LIC AAO Exam Eligibility:
Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree from a reputed college or university approved by Govt. of India.
As far as the age limit is concerned the applicant’s minimum age should be 21 years & the maximum age should be 30 years at the time of application form filling process.
There is various age relaxation as per government norms for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category and other reserved category candidates.
LIC AAO Exam Syllabus:
They are as follows.
• Test of Reasoning
• Test of English Language
• Test of Numerical Ability and
• Test of General Knowledge and General Awareness
LIC AAO Exam Pattern:
The LIC AAO exam is conducted in three stages
• Preliminary Examination
• Main Exam
• Interview
The LIC AAO Preliminary exam has three sections:
• Reasoning
• Quantitative Aptitude and
• English Language
The total allotted time for this part is 1 hour. The medium of the exam will be English and Hindi. The time duration for each section is 20 minutes. The candidates have to score minimum qualifying numbers marked for each section.
LIC AAO prelims marks will not be counted for the final merit. English Language Test will be of qualifying nature and the marks obtained will not be counted for ranking.
LIC AAO's main exam is conducted online to select the candidates for the interview stage.
The LIC AAO main exam consists of two types of questions
• The objective type which are of 300 marks
• Descriptive type of 25 marks
Descriptive paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who qualify in the objective part of the main examination. In mains exam pattern varies from post to post.
In AAO Main exams each section carries 30 questions each and 2 descriptive questions.
For AAO (Generalist) and (Rajbhasha) there are 4 sections
• Reasoning Ability
• General Knowledge, Current Affairs
• Data Analysis and interpretation
• Insurance and financial market awareness
• One is a descriptive paper
In which Reasoning ability and Data analysis and interpretation carry 90 marks each and General knowledge and Insurance and financial market carry 60 marks each only and descriptive paper of 25 marks. 2 hours time is given to complete this exam and 30 minutes are for descriptive paper.
The only difference in the pattern of these two is their descriptive paper. In generalist descriptive paper in English and in Rajbhasha, it is Knowledge of language.
For AAO Main (Chartered Accountant/Actuarial) there are again 4 sections
• Reasoning Ability
• General Knowledge, Current Affairs
• Professional Knowledge
• Insurance and financial market awareness and
• One descriptive paper i.e. English Language
In which Reasoning ability and Professional Knowledge carry 90 marks each and General knowledge and Insurance and financial market carry 60 marks each only the English language carries questions 25 marks. It has to be completed in 2 hours time and extra 30 minutes are given to the descriptive paper.
Shortlisted candidates, who qualify in the Online Test, will be called for Personal Interview round.
The Interview is of 30 marks.
How to Apply for LIC AAO Exam?
• Interest candidates can apply for LIC AAO Exam only through ONLINE mode by visiting the official website www.licindia.co.in within the stipulated time period as and when mentioned in the LIC AAO Exam notification.
• Candidate should have a valid Email id otherwise create a new Email id that should be in working for the duration of the project.
• Before applying online the candidate has to pay the fee at the nearest LIC collection Centre. After payment of the fee, the candidate should obtain the receipt and log on to www.licindia.co.in for online registration.
• After successfully submitting the application, the candidates will get a Unique Application Registration Number. The candidate's note/remember this number for future references.
• After confirmation of submitting the application, the candidates have to take two printout copies of applications for future use.
LIC AAO Exam Registration Fees:
Fee for LIC AAO exam is Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD and Rs.600/- for all other categories.
