President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to leave the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office in Ikoyi, Lagos, immediately.
This choice was made in response to claims that DSS agents had forcibly entered the EFCC office on Awolowo Road in Ikoyi and barred its employees from entering their place of employment. In a statement, Tunde Rahman, the president's media advisor, reaffirmed this.
The DSS and EFCC have long been at odds over ownership of the structure, and Tuesday's incident only served to exacerbate their conflict.
The DSS's actions, which included denying them access to their own office in Lagos, shocked and disappointed the EFCC. However, the DSS has refuted the accusations.
