The charming town of Arroyo de la Miel is one of the three districts that make up the town of Benalmádena. Located between Benalmádena Pueblo and Benalmádena Costa, this scenic town is full of winding back streets and plazas that cling to the old village way of life. Considered as one of the most popular destinations for tourists, Arroyo de la Miel has a large British expat community.

It all began during the 18th century, in farmhouse where six paper factories were built for the production of playing cards and various agricultural facilities. The reason for the name "Arroyo de la Miel" is due to the abundance of honeycombs that existed, form the first years of Christian repopulation after its reconquest in an area characterized by its hills and furrowed by torrents and streams. Its greeatest urban development came from the construction of the coastal railway which connects the towns of Fuengirola and Málaga capital. The tourism boom in the year 1960s has made its demographic boom and the transformation of the Arroyo de la Miel farmhouse into the largest and most populated district.

Now, in the town proper you can find every type of bar and restaurant imaginable and guests can savor and taste traditional Andalusian tapas, delicious cuisines and coffee houses situated along Calle Blas Infante.
