Face masks could soon be scrapped for indoor retail settings in Victoria, just in time for the Christmas shopping rush.
It is predicted the change could come on Thursday.
Last month Premier Daniel Andrews issued a statement saying it is likely the mask mandate would be relaxed in line with settings in New South Wales.
The government, however, has been tight-lipped as new pandemic laws which come into place on Thursday stipulate changes cannot be discussed before they go through proper processes.
