The Lightweight Concrete Showdown continues with Steve making a 3:1 vermiculite to portland cement test block that is 1" thick. Once the block has fully cured, strength testing and comparisons will ensue to compare these concrete panels made with a variety of lightweight aggregates and concrete admixtures. The testing of this 1" thick 3:1 vermiculite concrete panel will see it spanning a 28" space without any tensile reinforcement and then weight is added until it breaks.

Months of work have gone into making all of these different blocks and letting them cure so that we can break them and test their strength. Isn't that great? Making it just to break it! For science of course.
