There's great sailing too, with many experienced sailors saying that the D'Entrecasteaux Channel south of Hobart is one of the best boating areas in the world.
Tasmania has a well established reputation for producing top quality food and wine as well. Cool climate conditions have enabled farmers to grow great fruit, berries as well as lamb, beef and poultry. In recent years salmon and ocean trout have become established primary products. Along with specialty products including truffles, saffron and even tea, these products have regularly won acclaim from chefs and food judges. Production of whisky in Tasmania is well established and Sullivan's Cove recently won the World's Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards - see [ Ссылка ]
Tasmania has established marinas around the state, with most in the south-east. Several new marinas are being constructed (2016) meaning there are plenty of spaces for visiting boats.
The boatbuilding industry in Tasmania is well established and has produced many fine boats for the fishing and recreational markets. There are slipyards around the state and quality marine services ready to take care of your boat.
