Kerala reported 13 cases of mosquito-borne Zika virus for the first time on July 8. All samples that tested positive for the Zika virus were collected from the Thiruvananthapuram district. The samples have been sent to Pune’s National Institute of Virology (NIV) for confirmation. The samples were first collected for testing after a 24-year-old pregnant woman sought treatment in June.
