Director Koratala Siva has stated in an interview that, Mahesh Babu was supposed to play Ram Charan's Role in Acharya movie.

In this candid Telugu interview with Greatandhra, Koratala Siva has mentioned that Ram Charan was busy with Rajamouli's RRR shooting.

Therefore, he mentioned the role to Mahesh Babu, who happily agreed to be a part of it.

Koratala Siva will next direct Jr NTR. Mahesh Babu is currently busy with the movie shooting under the direction of Trivikram.

In 1999, Mahesh Babu made his debut as a lead actor with the film Raja Kumarudu, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and co-starring Priety Zinta.

Mahesh Babu has two upcoming films in various stages production. Mahesh Babu is set to re-unite with Trivikram Srinivas for their third collaboration from April 2022.

Mahesh Babu is also committed to star in S. S. Rajamouli's untitled film which is expected to begin its production in 2023. The film is touted to be a jungle adventure set in Africa.
