SSD drives are known to be harder, better, faster, and stronger than their HDD counterparts, but they are also significantly more expensive.
For example, you can buy a 1TB HDD drive for nearly half the price of a 1TB SSD drive.
That begs the question "How much better can the SSD drive really be?"
What I've come to notice is that there isn't much of a noticeable difference when I edit off of an external SSD drive vs off of an external HDD drive.
As a matter of fact, the SSD drive only seems to eat up more energy, overheat my computer, and make the fans go crazy.
Maybe there is something wrong with my drive, or my computer, but consider this a word of caution.
If you are in the market for external hard drives, save yourself some money and go with HDD.
