In this tutorial, you will learn how to Create a Motion Graphic Template in After Effects.
Motion graphic templates (.mogrt is the file type) are created in After Effects for use in Premiere. They provide Premiere editors access to the creative power of After Effects without them needing to know how to use AE.
Before you install a new template, make sure you have all the required fonts installed. To find out how to install fonts, check out our tutorial on that topic.
In Premiere Pro, click on the Graphics workspace on the top. Click Install Motion graphics template button in the Essential Graphics Panel.
Find the template you want and click open. Now you can find the template under the browse tab.
Let’s now add a motion graphics template to your sequence. Under Browse - My Templates, find the template that you want and click and drag it onto the panel. It’ll need some time to load the template. Now you can select the template and in the Essential Graphics panel click on Edit tab. The editable content will depend on the template and what the author has enabled for editing!
This workflow opens horizons for many editors who don’t have the necessary skillset for motion graphics use or don’t want to juggle back and forth between Premiere Pro and After Effects whenever they need title screens, lower thirds and so on.
