In this video I show you two very unique snare drums made by the A & F drum company out of Austin Texas.
I play, describe, and roughly review an 18"x 4" gunshot snare as well as a 10" x 3" Rude Boy snare. Both drums shells are raw brass.
These instruments are expensive and they are esoteric in their sound qualities. Therefore I would not recommend them as any kind of all-round or main snare. A & F does make conventional drums in all sizes and they sound great.These particular drums are niche drums that serve a distinct purpose so they are not for everyone.
Please pardon the camera angles (1/2 my head is missing in some shots) but I wanted to keep the focus on the drums at all times.
