Agniveer Update: Ex-Agniveers Get Reservation | Agniveer New Vacancy 2024 Full Details | Report Card
EX-AGNIVEERS will now have 10 per cent of seats reserved for them among the available vacancies with the Border Security Force, Centre announced on Thursday. Former Agniveers will also have a relaxed upper age-limit, compared to other applicants, if they were part of the first batch. The Centre has amended Border Security Force, General Duty Cadre (Non-Gazetted) Recruitment Rules, 2015 to allow upper age-limit relaxations by up to five years for ex-Agniveers from the first batch and the subsequent three batches applying for the post of Constable. This amendment will come into effect from March 9. Additionally, Ex-Agniveers will be exempt from the need to take the physical proficiency test.
Follwing the widespead demonstrations after the introduction of Agnipath scheme for recruitment to the Indian Army, the Ministry of Home Affairs had announced that 10 per cent of vacancies in central para-military forces and Assam Rifles shall be reserved for ex-Agniveer soldiers. Under the Agnipath Scheme the Army only retains 25 per cent of the recruits after four years of service.
