The Duke of Edinburgh has joked about the number of Filipinos working in the NHS - telling a nurse her country must now be "half-empty".
The 91-year-old, who is famed for his off-the-cuff remarks, made the hospital worker from the Philippines laugh with his comment during a visit to open a £5.5 million cardiac centre.
He can be heard telling the unnamed nurse at Luton and Dunstable Hospital: "The Philippines must be half-empty - you're all here running the NHS."
Describing himself as being in a "jovial" mood, he also joked he was the "world's most experienced curtain puller" and asked when the hospital would be getting a helipad to save him by the journey by car.
