UPDATE: COLONIE - A boil water advisory has been issued for the town of Colonie.
Officials are advising residents of the Town of Colonie to boil their water for the next 48 hours.
According to officials the water main break that caused this advisory occurred at a water treatment plant early on Saturday.
This advisory does not affect those in the village of Menands.

Crews are working on a water main break in Colonie according to police.
Police say the water main break is on Onderdonk avenue but did not have any further information.
