One of the reasons we love Manuel Antonio so much is that you are pretty well guaranteed to see three species of Costa Rican monkeys in a short period of time. Capuchins would visit us at the pool. Titi (Squirrel) monkeys would run across our rooftop. Howlers would wake us up in the morning with their haunting call. It was all amazing and welcome and wonderful.
I really want to go back just to learn to film these guys better as this was my first real kick at the cat. And howlers are the hardest to see out of all of them as they keep to themselves in the jungle. They're more shy and don't really like to be fed by humans, not that anyone should ever feed a wild monkey. Don't! It's bad for them!
I just wish I could convey how wonderful these creatures are. You should really just go and experience them yourselves.
